Originality or upbringing
Innate originality is better or family upbringing
Shah Abbas and Sheikh Baha’i
They say: One day, Shah Abbas came to the service of the scholar of the age, Sheikh Baha’i, in Isfahan. After greeting him, he asked the sheikh:
In dealing with people in the community, is their inherent originality better or their family upbringing?
Shaykh said: Whatever the opinion of Hazrat Ashraf is, it is the same. But, in my opinion, “authenticity” is preferable.
And the king said contrary to him: Do not doubt that “education” is more important.
The argument between the two escalated and none of them could convince the other.
Inevitably, the king invited him to the palace to prove his truth.
The next day, at dusk, the sheikh arrived at the palace.
After the initial ceremonies, it was time for dinner. They spread a long table. But, because there were no lights and electricity, the guest house was very dark.
At this moment, the king clapped his hand on the floor and with his gesture, four cats appeared with candles in their hands and lit the place.
During the dinner, the king patted the sheikh’s back and said, “You see, I said: “Education” is more important than “authenticity”.
We domesticated and tamed these stray cats. This is the result of the importance of “education”.
The sheikh said, “I only accept your word on one condition, that the cats do the same thing tomorrow as they did today.”
The Shah, who was very surprised by the Sheikh’s words, said: What is this? Tomorrow is like today and today is like yesterday!
Their work is an acquisition that is done with a lot of training and practice.
But the sheikh did not give up. To the extent that he forced Shah Abbas to repeat this work tomorrow.
Therefore, the sheikh went home thoughtfully.
When he returned from the palace, he immediately set to work.
He took four socks and put four mice in them.
Tomorrow he went to the palace again according to the previous appointment. The same ceremonies, the same table, and the same king’s acting cats, who proudly saw the repetition of yesterday’s ceremony as an emphasis on the validity of his words.
He sings under his breath for the sheikh. At this time, the sheikh released the mice.
At that time, a moment arose; One cat to the east, another to the west, that one to the north, and this one to the south…
This time, the sheikh clapped his hand on the back of the king and said: Shahriara!
Remember that the origin of cats is to catch mice; Although “education” is also very important. But, “authenticity” is more important.
Remember that with “training” you can tame and calm a domestic cat;
But, whenever the cat sees the mouse, it returns to its origin and “authenticity”.
And this is: the story of some who have just reached the age of the old.
