Please do not destroy the Ministry of Energy

During the tenure of Ali Akbar Mehrabian in the Ministry of Industries, steel factory units were built in “the driest plains of the country”. For example:
Shadgan Steel (Khuzestan)
Reed steel (Fars) in one of the driest areas of Fars province
Foulad Ardakan Yazd
Sabzevar Steel and

Placing and creating 7 large steel projects of 800 thousand tons in areas without water supply infrastructure is the “accomplishment” of the person who is going to take over the macro management and water governance of the country today.

The #steel industry is dependent on #water. Water circulates in it and pumps with a capacity of about 35,000 cubic meters per hour pump the water and after passing through the cycle (the main part) of this water evaporates. Ali Akbar Mehrabian’s mismanagement in the field of water and environment, which led to drought in some plains and areas around the steel industrial complexes in the country, made this industry face more problems.

How can we appoint someone who has built steel industrial units (which are considered “water-intensive” industries) in dry areas of the country to head the Ministry of Energy to solve the country’s #water problems?

(Water consumption per ton of steel production is about 28 cubic meters, of which less than 2% is recycled and the rest is thrown away)

In the midst of recent power outages and water shortages, the management of one of the most specialized ministries of the country is going to be entrusted to a person who has the least expertise and #experience in this field.

#Electricity is the heart of modern technologies and today we are facing the #problem of supplying electricity to industrial units due to sanctions/investment problems. At the same time as the problem of electricity, the issue of #water as one of the most key problems of the country is not something that can be entrusted to a person without scientific/executive experience with a political decision.

Among dozens of experienced managers in the Ministry of Energy, and among hundreds of experts familiar with the electricity industry and water governance challenges, what does it mean to appoint a person who has “no technical knowledge and executive experience” in the Ministry of Energy?

The appointment of Ali Akbar Mehrabian to the management of the Ministry of Energy in the conditions of electricity shortage and drought caused the Ministry of Energy’s weakness.

How long should we think that we can solve “technical problems” by appointing “political people”?

How long should we think that the senior management of a “specialized ministry” can be completely “alien” with the issues of that ministry?

Why are we looking for a “solution to the problem” with a “political appointment” in a country that has faced problems without electricity due to the problem of foreign investment?

How much “genius” can a human have, that we expect to leave the most complex issues of the water and electricity industry in the hands of an inexperienced genius? And is it possible to take risks with the “hypothesis of genius” and entrust the water and electricity infrastructure of a country to “inexperienced” hands?
And basically, what “evidence of genius” is there in Mehrabian, that today we humiliate the Ministry of Energy like this?

The body of the Ministry of Energy is one of the country’s ministries, which must be managed by “experienced human resources”. In the list presented by the 13th government to the parliament, there are experienced and capable people, but the members of the parliament! Please do not destroy the Ministry of Energy.
