Pharmaceutical form: Sterile injectable solution.
Pharmaceutical group: vitamin + minerals.
Drug composition:
Each milliliter contains 100 mg of iron dextran and 100 micrograms of cyanocobalamin.
 
Effect mechanism:
Vitamin B12 performs many actions in the body, which are summarized as follows.
1-    Maintaining the hematopoietic system naturally in the bone marrow and elsewhere
2-    Formation and maintenance of the myelin sheath of nerve fibers
3- Protecting the liver in a number of species from fat changes caused by a series of compounds such as chlorinated hydrocarbons.
4-    Preservation and maintenance of egg and sperm production and as a result maintenance of fertility.
5- Maintaining the metabolism of pancreas, brain and skin.
Basically, cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) plays an important role in maintaining all tissues in which protein, nucleoprotein and fat conversion are produced.

Pharmacokinetics:
Cyanocobalamin is rapidly absorbed after intramuscular administration. After vitamin absorption, it circulates in the blood for a certain period. Part of it is bound to protein and a small amount is stored in all tissues, but the largest amount is stored in the liver. The elimination of this drug is relatively fast.
Uses:
This drug is used to prevent and treat anemia caused by iron deficiency and vitamin B12 deficiency in large and small animals. It is also recommended in cases of decreased appetite and decreased growth and to shorten the recovery period of diseases in livestock. Also, this drug is used in metabolic conditions such as stenoma and pregnancy poisoning.
Consumption amount:
Cows and horses: 5 to 10 ml per head of livestock.
Calves and foals: 2 to 3 ml per 100 kg of body weight.
Sheep and goats: 1 to 2 ml per 45 kg of body weight.
Lamb and kid: 1 to 1.5 ml on the first day of birth and repeat it 10 days later.
Dog: 1 to 1.5 ml.
Cat: 0.5 ml.
Usage method:
To be injected deep intramuscularly.
Side effects:
There is a possibility of painful and burning reactions at the intramuscular injection site.
In some cases, anaphylactic shock may occur after drug injection, in which case adrenaline should be used.

Drug interactions:
In patients who take chloramphenicol at the same time, there is a possibility that the clinical response will be delayed. Incompatibility in the action of tetracycline and sulfadiazine sodium at the same time as taking iron in the form of iron dextran has been reported.
