#Experience #Interview at Queens University Belfast for Master of Architecture

First, Microsoft Teams said that there is an interview, but it is very slow inside Iran, and I asked them to do a Google Meet interview, which they accepted.
Only one man interviewed me, I was stressed about his British accent, but I understood 95%
He had seen my portfolio and first of all he asked me to explain one or two projects that I like and why these projects are important.
And what challenges I was able to solve in them
These 2 of my projects were computerized, and then he asked me how to present the presentation process by hand or by computer: I said first by hand and then by computer, and I try to work in a combination.
I had another project that was a combination of hand and computer and I showed it to him and he liked it
After that, I told about the challenges of my project, and he gave a lot of comments and criticized very well, both the positive points of my work and the ineffective points.
For example, you said that this part is a bit irrelevant considering the goal you said in the project, but you showed this part well.
I maneuvered about sustainability and native architecture and searched for the professor’s name and saw 23 of his articles, his keywords were about housing, and then I said that I would like to work on these things for the future and how important it is and its relationship with architecture and knowledge. I asked how it can affect my future knowledge. He liked it very much and finally he became friendly and talked about the works of famous architects. He said “I fucking like these buildings” which I copied for a moment.
In general, it was important to them what questions I could answer in my project and he emphasized that no answer is perfect and it is necessary to see how to establish a balance.
He asked me why did you choose the city of Belfast, I said because it has a long history and now has a lot of up-to-date architectural knowledge, unlike my country, which only has a rich history, that’s why I want to study my next degree in Belfast (I read this on the university website before the interview).
He asked me about architects, and he said who do you follow and who inspires you inside and outside? , Zaha Hadid) inspired me and I said that the bachelor’s degree was mostly to be able to collect the existing information and create an architecture that combines my own views and other famous architects, he said it is good and we are in our university for the master’s degree. They should try to have their own point of view and it’s good that you were inspired by the current information.
In general, he said that the portfolio is strong and you can talk about them and we will tell you the result in a month.
Fandom said that the scholarship has 50% tuition fee and said that you can apply after that because it is competitive
The conclusion I got myself, and I think I should use the maneuver method for the next interviews, is that the portfolio should be related to what you say. If you have a claim, make sure to bring the proof in the portfolio. that I went out of my words in 2 or 3 places and he mentioned it himself.
