Underground travel of the capital’s residents from Varamin to Chitgarh
With the construction of line 9 of the Tehran metro, the underground journeys of the capital’s residents will begin from Varamin highway to Chitgar.

The CEO of the Transport and Traffic Organization of Tehran announced this news and explained the details and features of the mentioned line and added: in the revised studies of the public mass network of Tehran, the construction of 9 metro lines with the origin and destination of the Varamin-Chitgar highway with a length of 53 km And the number of 40 stations has been approved. At the starting point, this line has an interchange with line 11 in the area of Varamin road, and then its route reaches Afsarieh highway by crossing Imam Reza (a.s.) highway.

According to the public relations report of the Transport and Traffic Organization of Tehran, Shahriar Efendizadeh said: This line will cover areas 8, 4, 13, 14, and 20 in the east of Tehran and continue westward, and the northern areas of Hemat highway located in areas 3, It covers 2 and 5 and finally by changing the route to the south, it covers area 22 and ends at Chitgar station, which is an important interchange station with line 5 (Express B) and line 11.

The CEO of Tehran Transport and Traffic Organization stated that Line 9 plays an important role in increasing the share of public transportation and creating network integrity, and stated: Considering the residential constructions in District 22 and the poor coverage of mass public transportation in This area, line 9, can play a major role in the movement of citizens living in this area and change the way of traveling from a private car to the subway at the same origin.

According to Efendizadeh, some of the passengers from the suburbs of Karaj will also use this line at Wardvard interchange station, and in general, passengers in this corridor can travel to the central and southern areas of Tehran and vice versa by using the intersection lines.

It should be mentioned that the 7 lines of the Tehran and the suburbs metro have been designed and implemented in such a way as to provide maximum coverage in the central-commercial areas of the city, including areas 6, 7, 11 and 12, but in the new approach, line 9 is one of the longest lines of the network. The new Tehran subway is designed in such a way that by forming a loop with metro line 8, it provides maximum coverage for the outer areas of the air pollution control area and having an intersection with line 11 provides maximum coverage for all peripheral areas of the city.
