According to Tasnim, the Director General of Livestock Affairs of Khuzestan announced the arrival of 7 ships carrying livestock inputs to Imam Port and said: These inputs were purchased from Brazil and Argentina.
Hamid Badavi stated: These shipments include three ships of soybean meal and four ships of corn each weighing 65,000 tons and a total of 260,000 tons, which were ordered and purchased by the country’s livestock affairs support company from Brazil and Argentina.
He added: The operation of docking ships carrying livestock inputs to the docks of Imam Khomeini port will be done gradually.
He stated that the import of livestock inputs by the public and private sector through Imam Khomeini port will continue with the aim of meeting the needs of the country, adding that the import of livestock inputs is carried out according to planning.
According to this report, about 80% of the volume of basic goods (livestock and grains) enters the country through Imam Khomeini Port. Last year, about 15 million tons of essential goods entered the country through Imam Khomeini port and were transported to the far corners of the country by rail and road fleet.
Imam Khomeini Port is the second largest and operational port of the Islamic Republic of Iran after Shahid Rajaei Port in Hormozgan province
