The central bank announced that it has stopped allocating currency to exporters who have not brought their currency

Following the publication of news in some media and the claim of “stopping the issuance of customs clearance permits for large steel manufacturers by the Central Bank”, informs:

Since the beginning of the year, the major exporters of metal minerals have returned only 839 million euros of foreign currency to the country, in spite of exporting goods equivalent to about 3 billion euros, in the form of methods announced by the Central Bank.

On the other hand, these same exporters, in addition to receiving various foreign currency and Rial facilities from the banking network and the Central Bank, since the beginning of this year, have received the equivalent of about 319 million euros at the official rate from the Central Bank and the equivalent of about 234 million euros through the Nima system for importing foreign currency. have received

In line with the implementation of the government’s currency approvals and the instructions for the return of foreign currency from exports, the central bank has prevented the allocation of new currency to exporters who have failed to comply with the regulations.

According to the mentioned statistics, naturally, some exporters of metal minerals are also included in this group. However, this issue has nothing to do with the purchase of previously allocated currency, as well as the issuance of a declaration of currency supply (or a customs clearance license as interpreted by some media) for cases that have already received currency allocation.

It is also necessary to mention that the allocation of foreign currency for imports to exporters who have performed their legal duties correctly continues as in the past;

For example, among the major exporters of metal minerals, the three companies that performed best have returned an average of 87% of their currency to the country, which the central bank expresses its gratitude to these exporters.

It is obvious that other exporters can still use the foreign exchange services of the Central Bank to import goods if they return the currency obtained from exports in the announced ways.

Finally, the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade is also expected to help the Central Bank in managing the foreign exchange market, just like the Ministry of Petroleum, which has made valuable efforts in managing the return of foreign exchange for exporters of petrochemical products.
