Knowledgeable sources reported that a pipe burst last night in the conference hall of the Museum of Containers and that this section of the museum was flooded, but fortunately, the museum artifacts section was not damaged.

According to the report of “Heritage”; apparently, the waterways of this palace need major restoration and have technical-engineering problems.

The repairs of this museum started before Nowruz 1403 and continued until March 29, but it was not finished, however, due to Nowruz visits, it was not removed from the list of museums that can be visited.

The complete repairs were supposed to continue with the arrival of the 1403 budget, but now, according to the recent events, it seems that the Vice-Chancellor of Cultural Heritage and the General Directorate of Museums should allocate the necessary funds for basic restoration to this very important museum as soon as possible.

Fortunately, there was no damage to the works of this museum due to the burst pipe and flooding, and the museum’s objects are in perfect health.

For a long time, many experts wanted to convert this conference hall into a museum exhibition hall because the whole of this building is historical and the function of a museum has been defined for it.

Out of 200,000 Saadabad museum objects, about 80,000 objects are located in this museum, and it is very important to fully use its space to show more works and restore the building and protect it.

The museum’s dishes are divided into four different sections: Qajar, Pahlavi I, Pahlavi II and donated dishes, and most of them are antique European dishes that belong to famous factories in the world such as Limoges, Bavaria, Rosenthal Sur, etc.

‼ Apart from the burst pipe, one of the problems of Saad Abad museums compared to other museums is heavy rains, because it is closer to the mountains than the rest of Tehran, and these museums face the risk of flooding and must always be monitored, and the necessary budget for waterways and Provide pipes.

History of Saadabad Palace Royal Dishes Museum

The museum building was built between 1315 and 1318 by order of Reza Shah for his daughter Ashraf in a space of 2,600 square meters. In 1350, Ashraf Pahlavi ordered the reconstruction of the interior and designed the building in French style using the best foreign architects and experts. After the Islamic revolution and in 1374, a museum called the Museum of Royal Dishes was opened in this building, but in March of the same year, the museum was collected and its building was handed over to the presidential institution.

After taking responsibility for the building, Cultural Heritage opened a museum called Handicrafts Museum in 1385, but in 1389, the Handicrafts Museum was moved to another building in Saad Abad Complex, and the Museum of Royal Dishes resumed its activities in this building. resumed
