Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development stated that the passing score in the engineering exam is currently 50 out of 100, which should be increased, and said: Engineers will have the opportunity to protest after the announcement of the results.
Mahmoud Mahmoudzadeh, in an interview with ILNA’s economic reporter, stated that Iran has one of the easiest conditions for entering the engineering profession compared to all other countries. All over the world, they have created the most difficult conditions for engineers to enter this profession, because engineers are connected with people’s lives and property.
He continued: “Today, we are witnessing the performance of our country’s engineers at the city level.” Unfortunately, in our country, one of the easiest exams to enter the engineering profession is held, so that every person who scores 50% out of 100 has received a passing grade. Which exam has provided the conditions that people with 50% score can be accepted?
The Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development emphasized: In all specialized exams, the conditions for accepting people are much more difficult. Many entrance exams are held throughout the year, in which of these entrance exams do people pass with 50% marks?
He stated that we believe that the passing score of the engineering exam should be increased, and said: “There is no reason for anyone who is an engineering graduate to be able to get an employment permit.” Anyone who has the qualification and knowledge of this profession and field can have a work permit.
Mahmoudzadeh continued: “The criticism that reaches the quorum comes from here, that unfortunately, in the past years, some factions were always able to gain points by bargaining.”
The Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development said about some of the criticisms that the questions were wrong: the story is that an atmosphere has been created in the field of engineering where educational institutions have given people a guarantee of passing the exam and have received significant figures for that. Justifying their performance, they claim that the questions were wrong and they repeat this issue every year.
He emphasized: Anyway, these institutions have taken a lot of money from people, and the more important thing is that basically these institutions are not qualified and some of these institutions do not have any licenses and permits to provide educational services.
