Recently, I have designed a color for a special application in the cellulose industry, which used to be imported from abroad, but its import was stopped due to high cost.
Replacement paint was purchased from domestic sources, which apparently did not have any of the properties of foreign paint, except for super cheap!!!
The exterior paint was based on hybrid water-based urethane acrylic and came from Türkiye. Our Iranian friends and colleagues, using simple and cheap resins, gave the consumer a color equal to the color of grade 3 semi-plastic, which only whitened the surface and did not have the least coating resistance.
He further added:
By changing the method by using acrylic resin, I was able to make a cheap but durable paint that has all the properties of the device in question:
1- Glossiness increased from 3 to 16, which was 12 approvals
2- Washing (wet scrub) has reached over 5,000 rounds from 3 rounds, which was beyond their expectations!
3- The smell is completely removed (removal of solvent 402 and other aromatic solvents such as butyl glycol, etc.) and even removal of propylene glycol and texanol, which were expensive, and in the end, only the smell of resin remains, which is extremely insignificant. The consumable solvent is completely odorless.
4- Excellent adhesion, moisture resistance and wear resistance
5- The price has been greatly reduced due to the reduction of 80% of titanium and the complete removal of expensive solvents such as Texanol. That is, I reduced the price of raw materials by about 45%.
6- By the way, elastic acrylic resin, which has blocking and yellowness, has not been used in this formula
7- The type of viscosity requested by the customer, which he strongly emphasized, was pseudo-Newtonian, which was not very important to achieve, but apparently they had not been able to achieve it before.
8- The absence of cracks, shadows and clots on the dried paint was emphasized
9- The softness of the particles and their appearance and durability in the container. Also, they were all great
10- Restrictions on the use of famous extenders such as talc and kaolin. It was restrictive due to opacity.
According to the set of technical conditions of the device and formulation of the coating and the final price, it seems that there is innovation and innovation in the methods and techniques of water-based dyeing, which had no history before.
