The importance of earthing in the elevator (electrical earthing)
Earth in the elevator (or the earth system in the elevator) is of great importance. This system is installed in elevators for various safety and performance reasons:
The earthing system guarantees the protection of elevator users and equipment against fluctuations and electrical problems. In case of problems such as short circuit or unexpected voltages, the earthing system helps to drain these fluctuations to the ground and avoid damage to the equipment and the risk of electrocution.
In case of failure or improper insulation of the wires, the earthing system can direct the unwanted current to the ground and prevent electrocution for users. This issue is especially critical in humid environments or adverse environmental conditions.
Many safety and control systems of elevators depend on the correct operation of the earth system. This includes sensors, controllers and emergency braking systems. Any malfunction in the earth system can lead to improper operation or malfunction of these safety systems.
