In the new chapter of this project, letters have been leaked from the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad, Tasnim News Agency, the Ministry of Security and the Football Federation, which requested the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to receive unfiltered internet.
The head of the Public Relations and Information Center of the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad in his letter addressed to Ehsan Kharamid, the head of the Public Relations Center of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, stated that this center needs to benefit from “free, unfiltered and high-speed Internet” in order to fulfill its news missions. and has provided a list of employees of this ministry to receive unfiltered internet.
In a letter to Issa Zarepour, the Minister of Communications, Mehdi Taj, the head of the football federation, requested to remove the filter from some of the IPs of this federation.
Tasnim news agency also asked the Minister of Communications to receive unfiltered internet based on the need of this news agency for constant use of unfiltered internet in connection with news and information affairs and monitoring of foreign media.
In the published letters, a letter from Omid Qalibaf, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Privacy, is also visible, which was written to Mustafa Ashraf, the director general of the ministerial office of the Ministry of Communications, and requested to receive unfiltered internet by providing the national code and phone number.
The Chamber of Commerce has also provided unfiltered internet for its members, as well as the Tehran Computer Technicians Union has provided this opportunity for its members. At the beginning of January this year, this union asked the license holders of the union to declare their IPs in order to receive unfiltered internet.
Despite all these requests, the Minister of Communications claimed on the sidelines of the government board meeting on December 14: “We don’t have such a thing as class internet, for us all people are special. “According to the decree that has been in place for years, some professionals such as freelancers have wider access, but we do not have such a thing as class internet.”
