The purpose of Scrum Daily is to inspect the progress of the work towards reaching the sprint goal and, if necessary, adjust the sprint backlog and adjust the planned future work.
A daily session is a 15-minute event for Scrum team developers. In order to reduce complexity, this event will be held at a fixed time and place every Sprint business day. If the product owner or scrum master is actively working on items from the sprint backlog, they also participate in this event as developers.
Developers can choose any structure and technique they want, as long as their Scrum Daily focuses on progressing work toward the Sprint Goal and creates an actionable plan for the workday ahead. This creates focus and improves self-management.
The Daily Meeting improves communication, identifies obstacles, promotes quick decision-making, and thus eliminates the need for other meetings.
Of course, Daily isn’t the only time developers are allowed to customize their schedule. They often meet during the day for more detailed discussions on adapting or rescheduling the remaining sprint work.
