word for word
First, get complete information about the field you want to apply for. See how the students of that field work in that country and in those universities you want. All the professors have websites, check them one by one to get to know their work. Putting together a good portfolio requires years of experience and proper understanding, but checking the work of professors and students gives you a better perspective to create a better portfolio. According to my personal experience, one of the most important things that can make you successful is your portfolio. I was invited for an interview at all 6 universities that I applied to, and without exception, the questions and their focus were on the portfolio, even in some places I felt that they did not read the SOP. (I’m not saying that other things are not important, I’m just trying to say how important portfolio is in our field)
The second personal opinion is that before applying, spend a lot of time and read the websites. If your goal is full funding, do not correspond with professors whose university does not provide full funding (I corresponded with 50 people and later I found out that they do not have full funding and my time was wasted!)
Don’t waste your time. Don’t stop at the university website, send an email and ask the department for complete fund details. Some departments do not write the exact status of the fund.
Interviews are also very important in my opinion. During the year you want to apply, improve your information, study and be ready to defend your work. Have something to say about your work, move forward enthusiastically and confidently. Practice possible questions.
Don’t pay too much attention to what others say in the groups for no reason and try to get the necessary information yourself by contacting the universities and don’t be afraid to send emails.
I remember the year before my application, I heard from many people in the groups that the possibility of getting a full fund in the graduate level is very low, and it really scared me.
In the end, I was very disappointed at a time and reading other people’s experiences motivated me a lot, so I wrote about this experience and I want to say that I was rejected in 3 of the 6 places I applied to. Don’t be afraid of being rejected.
Finally, thank you to all those who guided us here and gave us correct information, shared their experiences and motivated us.
I hope we can help others.
If you have any question, ask here, if I can, I will definitely answer.
