The story of the doll maker

Mohsen Renani

The first story: Labali boy
ـــــــ
He was a carpenter who made wooden dolls in the village and sent them to the city for sale. He learned puppet making from his father and his father was also trained by a master puppet maker in the neighboring village. He was still a teenager when his father died and he inherited his father’s doll workshop. Although he had worked many days before his father, he still had to reach his father’s skill. In the beginning, his dolls did not have any effect and he used a lot of wood to make each one, but little by little his hand started to work and the precision and elegance of his work became better and better. His income was low in the beginning, but it increased day by day. After years of hard work, not only was their table polished, but they also started to save some money. With his savings, he would buy and store wood so that he would never run out of wood for making dolls. In addition, he also had a very large and old wood warehouse that was left by his father. His father also bought that warehouse from him at a very cheap price when he was old and disabled, and he himself added a lot of wood to it. This boy also sometimes sold the wood from his father’s warehouse and bought fresher and more suitable wood for making dolls and stored it in the new warehouse. But father’s warehouse was so big that it was not as if some of his wood was sold.

But one of the problems of this carpenter was that he was very arrogant and despised others; Sometimes he was very rude and even violent; It was also different between his children; He did not allow them to build their lives the way they want and interfered in all their work. One day, one of his sons, who was at the beginning of his youth and because of his cleverness always ate more than others and had become very strong and the rest of the children counted on him, got fed up with his father’s bad manners and discrimination. He went and tricked his other brothers and sisters and took them with him to go and force his father to stop immorality, violence and discrimination. They all went to father’s workshop together. The young boy went forward and spoke harshly to his father on behalf of the others and criticized his behavior and morals. The father, who was not ready for such behavior from his children, started to be rude and aggressive. The son didn’t hesitate and answered the father by shouting and insulting. The argument between them escalated to the point where the father took a stick from the side of the workshop and hit his son several times. After being hit a few times, the boy got angry and lost his temper. He also jumped and took a longer stick and attacked his father. The conflict escalated. The story in this story, the boy, who was both scared and very angry because of the sticks he got from his father, hit his stick on his father’s leg and knocked him to the ground. The father convulsed for a few minutes, raised his palms, clenched his teeth, and then fell into a coma. He surrendered three days later. When Father Naqsh fell to the ground and had a seizure, everyone was afraid for a moment and silence took over the place, but suddenly, to overcome their fear, they started cheering and cheering. During those three days, they prayed to God that their father would not regain consciousness.
On the third day, they buried the father and gave all the affairs of the father’s workshop to their brother and went to experience the happy days of freedom from the father’s anger and violence.
