The finished price of each kilogram of raw milk with government input is 8500 Tomans

The CEO of the National Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Iran’s Livestock Farmers said: Currently in the country, the total price of each kilogram of raw milk with government input is 8500 Tomans.

Mojtaba Ali, CEO of the National Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Iran’s Livestock Farmers, in a conversation with the Keshavarz Plus reporter, referring to the gathering of livestock farmers in the last few days due to the high cost of inputs and drought, said: the cost of milk production by the country’s livestock farmers is increasing day by day.

He added: Considering the amount of drought in recent years, the lack of fodder and the increase in the price of domestically produced fodder, allocating government currency only to the livestock concentrate sector and the lack of support from farmers and ranchers in the fodder supply sector, the increase in the price of fodder is inevitable.

Ali Babian said that the effects of a one-day drop in livestock production will last for a month: Currently, the price of each kilogram of raw milk in the country is 7,400 tomans with the government input, which reaches 8,510 tomans including 15% profit for livestock farmers. And the finished price of milk with free input is 8,700 Tomans, which will reach 10,500 Tomans including 15% profit for the farmers. The existing price is lower than the price of production with government input, and this means the loss of livestock farmers and the gradual withdrawal of investors from this sector.

He pointed out: In inflationary conditions, governments should act in such a way to support production so that the final price of the products can be controlled and all sections of the society, especially the low-income sections, can enjoy it.

The CEO of the National Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Iran’s Livestock Farmers, pointing out that the increase in the price of dairy products in the short term may improve the situation of the livestock farmers and especially the dairy industry, said: This action will lead to a decrease in people’s consumption and a difficult life for consumers.

He reminded: the basic solution is to support production by reducing the final price of livestock farmers and ultimately reducing the price of dairy products.

Emphasizing that in the year of production support and removal of obstacles, production should be supported and not violation of consumers’ rights, he said: allocating appropriate subsidy resources to provide livestock inputs and reforming the access process of livestock farmers to livestock inputs can be effective.

He called the application of appropriate exemptions for active ranchers who, according to the unions, have followed all the pricing and distribution policies as one of the appropriate solutions for the sustainability of this industry and reminded: handing over any type of pricing policy to a committee consisting of animal nutrition and livestock management experts The selection of the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad, economic activists in the field of livestock inputs, representatives of livestock farmers to be selected by the active unions of this sector, economic experts to be selected by the consumer protection organization or penal organization, and experts in the field of currency exchange to be selected by the Central Bank will also be fruitful.

At the end, Aali said: The policy of supporting production by reducing the cost price of producers is the most effective and appropriate policy in a country like Iran.

According to Ayana; This union currently has 32 cooperative companies of the provincial organization, 661 active cooperative companies in the whole country, of which 1 million and 250 thousand active livestock farmers are members of the organizations.
