Tips about vaccines and vaccination;
Live vaccine:
These vaccines must be transported to the farm in an ice pack and kept in the refrigerator.
Use sterile distilled water as a solvent to dilute the vaccine.
After diluting, the vaccine solution should be poured into the dropper and the dropper should be placed inside the ice container between the ice cubes. During vaccination, if the dropper gets warm, it should be placed in ice and another cold dropper should be removed.
These vaccines are deactivated at room temperature and exposed to chemical compounds and detergents and disinfectants.
These vaccines cannot be injected and should be used as eye drops for ostriches.
Killed vaccine:
These vaccines should also be kept in the refrigerator and removed from the refrigerator 12 hours (recommendations vary from 4-18 hours) before vaccination and placed at room temperature.
Shake the vaccine bottle well before injection. During vaccination, the vaccine bottle should be shaken after several injections.
This vaccine can be injected subcutaneously and cannot be prescribed as eye drops, spray or orally.
When injecting under the neck, be careful not to insert the needle into the muscles and nerves of the neck.
In high-risk areas for Newcastle and influenza (Qazvin, Mashhad, Isfahan, etc.), according to the expert’s opinion, the Newcastle eye drop vaccine and the double injectable vaccine should be used at the same time, and then injectable vaccination should be done according to the schedule.
