Unnecessary sympathy is prohibited

Unnecessary compassion is prohibited!

These days, the interview of Shahrvant newspaper with “Muslim Najafi”, a PhD student in civil engineering who works in Kermanshah municipality, has made a lot of noise. Reza Rashidpour also talked to him in the Now Khurshid program.

Najafi says about his work: “I tried a lot, but I didn’t find any job suitable for my field. I have been working in the municipality since 1990 with a salary of 1,450,000 tomans, and in addition, I am teaching at the civil engineering associate degree of Kermanshah Azad University. “My salary at Azad University is 350 thousand tomans per semester.”

Muslim Najafi also says about the type of work he does in the municipality: “I am an assistant driver of a sweeping machine. If there’s trash, rock, anything the car can’t pick up, I have to pick it up. That means my job is sweeping.”

First of all, I must say that there is nothing wrong with working, and Najafi should be congratulated for being willing to work to support his living expenses with a high university degree. But this does not make us feel sorry for him.

A person who has been able to reach these high academic degrees means that he has a goal in his life; Getting a degree and using it. Why couldn’t he use it now? Is it supposed that whoever gets a degree, the government will give him a job? Does someone who is getting a doctorate degree mean that he cannot find a suitable job in his field of work?

According to Najafi, who currently teaches at the university and receives a salary of 350,000 tomans per term (which is really not the same as a university lecturer), how does Najafi encourage his students to study in a field in which he holds the highest degree and works in the municipality.

It seems that as much as he has been successful in studying, he has not been successful in finding a job. Are all those who are working now having a party? Or those who have become entrepreneurs, did they have acquaintances or relatives in the office? Or should everyone work in related fields?

Najafi has 35 scientific articles, could he not implement one of these articles in his work? There was no job in Kermanshah for the civil engineering field. Was there no job for him in the surrounding cities? Couldn’t Najafi go to the earthquake affected cities and use his knowledge there? Both make money and help people.

Many of us think that because, for example, we have studied a university course, everyone should sit in front of us with their hands on their chests and say, what do you like to do, sir?

By reading the memoirs of successful people, we see that they also did many things during their lifetime, from working in restaurants to farming, but they did not stop there and took the path of success. We should not think that Najafi will always stay in this line.

Nowhere in the world, bread is not easily put in a person’s mouth. It is strange for a PhD student to work in the municipality, but what is even more strange is that he has not been able to find a job for himself in his field or in his field of scientific work.

Currently, everyone welcomes skilled and expert people. Just getting a university degree and writing an essay does not mean the ability to do the job, just like when a person just gets a driver’s license, he cannot necessarily be a good driver and be able to drive with complete control.

It would have been nice if the “Muslim Najafi” of our story was at work and today he was one of the famous engineers of Kermanshah, but we should not justify their lack of work with unnecessary compassion for people. Najafis can use their degree properly if they make the right decision and don’t put all their hope in the country’s administrative failure system.
