We forgot that the goal of the JCPOA was economic

We forgot that the goal of JCPOA was economic and not moral

Dr. Mohammad Taher Kanani

There has been a lot of discussion about what was the spirit of Barjam? What was the goal of world powers in concluding the JCPOA? The spirit of an international law or document is the goal of the legislator. The spirit of JCPOA is also the goal of the member states.

The object of the JCPOA is Iran’s non-acquisition of nuclear weapons. This goal is undoubtedly a moral and security goal to maintain international peace and security. The only country that was supposed to give concessions for the implementation of the JCPOA was America. No other country was expected to give effective concessions for the JCPOA.

But what was the spirit of Barjam? The spirit of the JCPOA is the logic and characteristic of capitalist society, that is, national interests. The goal of the JCPOA member governments was national interests. None of their main goals were moral and human and for the well-being and happiness of humanity. The goal was to attract maximum benefits.

With this approach, let’s pay attention to which country was the main implementer of JCPOA and was deprived of JCPOA’s benefits. The only country that is clear that was expected to lift the sanctions and provide services to Iran in the fields of banking, money, industry, aviation, and international trade was the United States.

And the only country that did not get any benefits from the JCPOA was America! The leaders of American affairs realized what they were up to. China, Russia, France and Germany each made a felt hat, except America

As a result, it was very natural for America to withdraw from the JCPOA. Why should he adhere to an agreement that benefits others, but pays for the costs and privileges of the United States?

Now we have also seen that the withdrawal of America from JCPOA required the death of JCPOA and how important was the role of America in JCPOA. It is like if several friends go north together and only one has a villa and a car. Switch the car to others.

In my opinion, even if the Democrats came to power, they would probably withdraw from the JCPOA. Because after the JCPOA, the Iranian government declared war conditions with America. American sailors were arrested. They launched rockets. Qalibaf filled all of Tehran with anti-American banners. They introduced the honorable president of America as Shamar Zaman.

The unelected part of the government issued a decree that even the import of American cars is prohibited. In the author’s opinion, for national interests, the concessions they gave to China and France in the fields of automobile manufacturing and importing goods and investing in oil and petrochemicals should be given to American companies. What is the difference between America and China and France? But the gentlemen were even shocked by the opening of a McDonald’s branch in Iran.
Like this, a family gets into a fight with the neighborhood’s lot and instead of solving the problem with the lot, they all pay ransom to their kids. Well, you who pay the ransom, pay the ransom to the main party.

Another point was the Iranian government’s basic neglect of the American elections and Trump’s promises to withdraw from the JCPOA. And the vote of the people who voted for Trump with the same condition as part of the agreement. Trump had to withdraw from the JCPOA. He is a man and his word.

Mr. Rouhani said to Trump, “Now you said something in the election and it’s over. Why are you still in the election atmosphere?” [Rouhani made an analogy about Trump’s election promises]

Another point is the nature of the JCPOA. The JCPOA is not a treaty because it was a commitment from the red lines of the JCPOA. Iran was looking for an action plan and not a treaty. That is why the US Senate did not consider it as a treaty.

Iran’s goal was to make the JCPOA non-binding so that it could withdraw from it whenever it had an opportunity, and it did not know that the party would withdraw and it had no implementation guarantee.

In any case, governments are looking for their own national interests and not for compliance with moral principles. These are politicians, not prophets. The American government withdrew from the JCPOA because it was totally screwed.
