What we have heard less about Imam Hussain
We have summarized Imam Hussain only in the last few hours of his life, while we are unaware of his 57 years of life.
Imam Hussain appeared on the battlefield like a simple soldier in the wars of Jamal and Safin. While he could excuse himself from fighting under the pretext of being a nobleman.
Imam Hossein loved and loved his family and even wrote love poems for his wife Rabab.
While doing itikaf and circumambulating the house of God, a debtor asked him for help, and Imam Hussain broke his itikaf to ask the creditor for respite.
He never asked for any post or position from his father, who was the ruler of all Islamic countries. Imam Hossein was a farmer and worked on his land every day.
In the story of Imam Hasan’s peace with Muawiya, he accompanied his brother and did not accept the words of any opposition. After his brother’s martyrdom, until Muawiya’s death, he remained committed to the pact which Muawiya had broken many times.
No beggar ever returned from his house empty-handed, and he not only helped the poor but also made them free from begging.
In the case of Imam Hasan’s burial, he agreed not to bury his brother next to the Messenger of Allah in order to avoid conflict.
He freed his maid because she gave him a bouquet of flowers.
When he saw a slave feeding a dog, he bought him from his Jewish master and freed him on the spot. A Jewish man and his wife converted to Islam on the spot when they saw Maram Hossein.
In the case of forced allegiance with Yazid, while he could have taken refuge in Mecca like Abdullah bin Zubair, he did not do so in order not to harm the sanctity of the Kaaba.
When he faced Harben Yazid Riyahi’s army of 1000 men, he not only did not take advantage of the thirst of the enemy’s army but also watered all the enemy’s army. Imam Hossein even ordered to water the enemy’s horses.
When he found out that the people of Kufa had returned from their allegiance, he told the enemy that he had given up going to Kufa and would return to prevent war and bloodshed, but Ibn Ziyad refused.
When Harbin Yazid Riyahi did not allow Imam Hussain to return to Ibn Ziyad’s order, his companions suggested to him to fight with the small army of Hur and escape from death, but Hazrat Seyyed al-Shohada said:
I am not a war starter.
While the number of his soldiers was less than a hundred people, he told them that anyone who is in debt cannot be with us, and two of the soldiers separated from Imam Hussain at night because of this.
He bought the land of Karbala for sixty thousand dirhams from its owners and gave it to them so that his blood would not be spilled on other people’s land.
When Imam Hossein was buried, people saw old wounds on his shoulders. Imam Sajjad said that these wounds are caused by the bags that my father takes to the homes of the needy at night.
